Data Analyst Internship Program

At mPharma, we start and end our day thinking about how we can enable patients to afford their medications. We’re a small but growing team of 500+ members, headquartered in Accra, Ghana, backed by mission-driven investors. We’ve joined hands with third-party payers, drug manufacturers, and healthcare providers to develop products and services that directly reduce the costs of prescription drugs for patients. In only a few years, we’ve managed to provide low-cost, high-quality medicines to millions of patients across nine African countries (Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Malawi, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zambia.)

Position Description

mPharma Data Analyst Internship Program (DAIP) is a 6-month hybrid internship program offering real-world data analytics including predictive analytics, data visualization, etc using cutting edge analytical tools and processes to support several business functions with internal analytics services to deliver ad-hoc reporting and business insights. Each intern will be matched to a manager and a mentor throughout the program. Our interns analyze real-life problems and collaborate with a multifunctional and culturally diverse group of stakeholders to provide the best solutions to our customers.

The successful candidate for this role will be a data enthusiast, a fast learner, and an innovative thinker. Additionally, this candidate is never satisfied with the status quo, can show success in following up and getting things done, and can thrive in a fast-paced, data-centric, and ever-changing analytics environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support data analysis work across a wide area of product areas, including marketing, sales, finance, supply chain, health services, and more.
• Support with ad hoc analysis to help business units make smart decisions, and identify opportunities and patterns.
• Support with the implementation of analytics request and prioritization systems that will be used across the company.
• Build and implement QA processes for data validation and functionalities.
• Ensure data quality is adhered to across mPharma.
• Support with other projects as assigned.

Qualification

•  One year of professional experience in data analysis.
• One year of experience writing SQL queries.
• Strong written & verbal English communication skills.
• Experience in delivering Analysis and Insights through data visualization tools, preferably, Metabase or Power BI.
• Data-driven, passionate about metrics, and intellectually honest about how your work is performing - and driven to continuously improve it.
• Must be fluent in English language.
• Must have the legal right to work in your country of residence.
• Strictly for applicants in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and Uganda.
