Grant & Proposal Development
goTo Initiative | Accra, Ghana
goTo is building infrastructure. Infrastructure needs capital.
Grants exist — climate funds, foundations, bilateral programs, innovation windows.
Where opportunities exist - submitted, compliant, winning applications should be explored.
This role exists to turn calls into cash.
The Grant & Proposal Development associate's only job is: get grants across the line and close funding.
Proposal writer precision.
Donor fluency.
Deadline obsession.
If a submission is due Friday, you submitted Thursday.
If a budget is missing a line, you caught it.
If a compliance doc is required, it's already in the folder.
What You Will Own
Clear output: submitted applications that win.
Who You Are
If you've never submitted a grant application, this role will overwhelm you.
If you've closed funding before and want to do it again, this is your room.
Compensation
Performance-based. You're paid on results.
Success fee on grants secured → 5–10% of grant value
OR: Fixed fee per submission + success bonus → Negotiable

goTo Initiative is a Ghana-based systems design and sustainability infrastructure organization. Our work includes: • designing trust-based investment platforms (Buro Salon Nights) • building CircularTech, a data and decision-support tool for urban waste systems • advising corporates and institutions on ESG execution and systems design • running pilots that translate informal realities into investable infrastructure Our team operates like a startup studio — small, hands-on, and execution-focused. Interns and associates work directly on live projects with government, corporates, and communities, and are expected to take ownership from day one. If you’re looking for a place to “gain experience,” this may not be the right fit. If you want to build real things that cities and institutions actually use, you’ll feel at home here.
